Rise Bars Giveaway Product Review

At the beginning of the year, I was contacted about being a "High Riser" for a lovely, little company called Rise. I thought it was a wonderful opportunity, and I was honored to be considered a "High Riser". I was asked a number of questions about my background, my current situation, and my future goals, and it was a really enjoyable interview. You can read it HERE.

Kylan from Rise then mailed me a bright, spirit lifting (on that cold winters day), happy box full of their breakfast, energy and protein bars. The flavors inside were so original, and I couldn't wait to try them out! Although I received some bars to try, I was not compensated for this post.

Each bar has something unique to offer in taste and texture. Rise prides themselves on simple, wholesome ingredients, so you know exactly what you are eating.

Breakfast bars are a great snack to get you going on those busy mornings. I am a major sweet tooth, and the macadamia pineapple was my favorite, but it was not overly sweet for those who are not as sugar obsessed as I am. Each bar has a great combination of chewy, crunchy flavor. If you like crunch, the cashew almond was wonderful too!

Protein bars come in flavors like lemon cashew and honey almond. With 15-20grams of protein, over 20grams of carbohydrates and sweetened only with natural ingredients these are the perfect post workout snack to deliver the vital nutrition needed to start the recovery process.

Energy bars came in very handy for me as I need to eat something every few hours with my high volume training. When I needed a pick me up, I reached for a Rise Energy bar to keep me going till I could get something more substantial.

Wanna know whats even better about rise bars?
They are:
  • Gluten free
  • Preservative free
  • Soy free
  • GMO free
  • Peanut free
  • Kosher
Hows that for creating bars that satisfy? There are also vegan options for each type of bar! The list right above is one of the things I like the most about Rise. I am all about genuine, honest companies that do not try to cheat their way into your daily life. I love that Rise has thought about all the different dietary restrictions, and considered them in the creation of the products.

Is it really all positive?
As much as I love the company, and I loved the products, there were a few things that I considered downsides
  • It can be difficult to determine minor differences in flavors between some of the bars. I was expecting more of a powerful flavor punch from some of the exotic flavors, but I am not sure I would be able to guess the flavors given a blind taste test.
  • To enjoy Rise bars, you must like chewy! Almost all of their bars were chewy, in a way that is similar to oatmeal raisin cookies. That was fine for me, but if you are looking for bars with a lot of crunch, these are not for you.
  • The carob chip protein bar was not my favorite; it was almost bitter tasting. I know protein bars are not known for their flavor, but I would have liked a little more flavor. I do like carob, but I couldn't really taste the carob at all.
It's time to Rise and shine with these yummy bright sparks of goodness. Like what I did there? Yes, I am a cheese ball!

Okay, now for the best part! Rise is offering one lucky winner the opportunity to win a sample box containing one of each flavor! This Giveaway ends Sunday March 2, at 11:59pm. Good Luck!

  27. Tina- your honesty in all areas of life is probably one of my favorite qualities about you. I love that you weren't afraid to also mention the cons. I feel like so many people will say "oh this product is awesome, blah blah blah" just to please the company.. but is it really the right thing to do? Absolutely not.

I truly enjoyed reading all you had to say - so thanks for an awesome review.
